Its probably a good idea to hide this feature, as it can lead to apps using this background even more. As you can see from the image, there are no differences when compared to the default iPhone.
iphone XS has a black background, which is why when comparing it to the default iPhone it shows up differently, but the iPhone 2 and 3 have normal black backgrounds.
Well, it’s definitely better this way. But you wouldn’t want to hide the default iPhone’s background by default as well. I was pretty disappointed that the default iPhone was still able to have a black background while there was no way to disable this feature. And when you’re already using the iPhone XS as your primary phone, you can’t really hide a feature you don’t want others to use.
This might be a very good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. If you want to give your iPhone XS a black background, the default iPhone is the best choice. If you want to hide the background, the default iPhone is the worst, since you cant change the color of the black background.
