In our world, we have all sorts of rules.
And we have all sorts of rules in our world, but some rules are more important than others. A rule that has been the downfall of every video game to date is the one that says “do not change anything.” The very first video game in existence, Snake, made that rule so obvious that players would never change their moves. Snake’s first move was to stick his head in the mouth of a snake.
Here’s a great example of this rule in action. Snake was a snake, and his first move was to stick his head in the mouth of a snake. But here’s the thing: that first move is very important to Snake. The rule is something that is so fundamental to Snake’s character that it can never be changed since any change would be too drastic. It’s a bit like the rule that if you change your name, you lose your memories.
